Truckie killed in head-on crash in Qld

A man has died in a crash involving two trucks near Macalister in Queensland's Darling Downs region.

The trucks collided head-on late on Saturday night about 10 kilometres west of Macalister on the Warrego Highway.

One man died at the scene.

The driver of the second truck, a 30-year-old Torrington man, was initially trapped in the wreckage but has since been airlifted to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries.

The highway remains closed at the scene.
