Trapeze artist falls at Cirque du Soleil

A trapeze artist has been hurt after falling during a Cirque du Soleil performance in Brisbane.

The 35-year-old woman briefly lost conscious and complained of back pain after falling between four and five metres on Sunday afternoon.

She reportedly landed near the audience after falling from a suspended ring while performing in the Kooza show, which opened at a big top in Brisbane on Thursday.

She was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital for assessment.

The show resumed after the fall.
