Queensland tradie critical after fall

A tradesman is fighting for life in hospital after falling several stories from a construction site on the Gold Coast.

The man in his 30s fell from waterfront units being built at Lakefront Crescent at Varsity Lakes just after 7am on Monday, according to Queensland Ambulance Service.

Witnesses reportedly saw him fall about 20m through scaffolding before landing on concrete.

He had to be resuscitated by workmates and critical care paramedics transported him to Gold Coast University Hospital where he's in a critical condition.

"He has multiple fractures to both legs and multiple fractures to the ribs," said QAS's Carmen Jensen.
