Toddler killed by minibus in north Qld

A toddler has died after being hit by a minibus in north Queensland.

The 20-month-old girl was hit by the vehicle on Palm Island about 12.30pm on Tuesday.

Police say preliminary information suggests the bus unloaded people on Serenity Crescent before the girl moved to the front of the vehicle and was struck as it pulled away.

She was taken to Palm Island Hospital in a critical condition but later died.
