Three men on torture charges after man and woman attacked in Bundaberg

Three men who allegedly assaulted and tortured a man and a woman in Bundaberg have been arrested and charged.

Police say that in the early hours of December 14 three men attacked the pair at a Thabeban address before dumping them on a Bundaberg street.

The 24-year-old man sustained head injuries and paralysis of the legs while the woman received minor injuries. Both were taken to Bundaberg Hospital for treatment.

Three men, two aged 25 and one aged 32, have been charged with torture, causing grievous bodily harm, common assault, deprivation of liberty and extortion with intent to cause detriment.

Two of the men are to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday while the third will appear in the same court on January 8.
