Four injured in golf buggy crash on Hamilton Island

Up to four people have been injured while riding a golf buggy on Queensland's Hamilton Island.

A rescue chopper has been sent to the resort getaway following the crash which occurred around 12.30pm.

Paramedics said the buggy rolled off an embankment.

It is not yet known how seriously injured the four people are.

It comes less than a year after another golf buggy crash on the island left a woman and her baby girl seriously injured.

The girl and her 30-year-old mother were badly injured when the golf buggy they were travelling in collided with another parked buggy and flipped on its side in March 2016.

Eight family members - five adults, one toddler and two infants - were injured in total.
