Qld man's terror-related charge dropped

Prosecutors have dropped a charge against a Brisbane man who was accused of holding money intended to fund terrorist activity in Syria.

Robert Louis Maestracci was arrested in September 2014 in connection with a series of counter-terrorism raids and accused of holding $7000 in a bank account to finance terrorist operations.

The charge - dealing with money reckless to the fact that it is proceeds of crime - was struck out in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday after the prosecution offered no evidence in relation to it.

Maestracci's co-accused, 32-year-old Omar Succarieh and 22-year-old Agim Kruezi, remain in custody as prosecutors build their case against the pair.

The duo is charged with preparing for incursions into foreign states. Kruezi is also charged with planning a terrorist act, while Succarieh is also charged with providing funds to the terrorist organisation Jabhat al-Nusra.

Their cases are due to be mentioned in the Brisbane Magistrates Court next week.
