Boy, 16, 'attacks' girl on Gold Coast

A boy has been charged after allegedly assaulted a teenage girl on the Gold Cast and then turned on a woman who tried to save her.

Police allege the 16-year-old attacked a girl, who was known to him, after the pair began arguing outside an Upper Coomera business on Wednesday afternoon.

He's accused of then assaulting a woman who came to intervene, but he was eventually restrained by an employee of the business who came to help.

The teen will front Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday on assault and wilful damage charges.
