Suspicious school fire near Mt Isa

Three girls have been arrested following a suspicious fire that damaged a school building at Soldiers Hill near Mt Isa in Queensland.

Police say emergency services responded to the fire at around 7.30pm on Friday, with initial reports indicating it started in a wheelie bin under classrooms and damaged floor boards and water pipes.

Three female juveniles have been taken to the Mount Isa Watch House.

The fire is being treated as suspicious and a crime scene has been established.
