Townsville streets reopen after emergency

Queensland police have revoked an emergency declaration in Townsville after a suspicious package was found in a shopping centre.

Streets around the Ross River Road centre, in Aitkenvale, were locked down just before 2pm on Friday after the item was found in its car park.

But police revoked the declaration two hours later after the item, which included "spare parts of some variety", was deemed to be non-suspicious.
