Suspicious package found at Queensland Centrelink office

An exclusion zone has been set up around a central Queensland Centrelink office as police investigate reports of a suspicious package this morning.
Officers were first called to the address on Greenfields Boulevard, Mackay, around 9am.

The building has been evacuated and the explosives ordnance response team has been called to investigate, a police spokeswoman told AAP.
A Centrelink spokeswoman could not confirm any further details about the incident, but said customers who had urgent inquiries could visit the Medicare branch at nearby Caneland Central shopping centre.
