'Spider-Man' attempts to rob Qld newsagent

A man dressed in a Spider-Man costume was anything but amazing as he was both a threat and a menace to the staff at a newsagency he tried to rob.

The man entered the store on Rode Road, Stafford Heights about 6.30am on Friday and in un-heroic fashion threatened staff with a gun.

A staff member refused his demands and the super-villain wannabe fled empty handed.

Instead of swinging away, he drove off in a silver Volkswagon Golf with Queensland license plate 083VVK. The vehicle was reported stolen on Thursday from a residence at Ascot.
