Southport street cordoned off as man refuses to leave car

Gold Coast police have cordoned off a Southport street after a man barricaded himself in a car.

Part of Como Crescent has been blocked off, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said.

There appears to be no danger to the public, the spokeswoman said.

Police have spent more than two hours at the scene, with first reports of the situation made at 1.10pm.
