Southeast Qld City Deal proposed

Acting Premier Jackie Trad says she has formally written to the federal government seeking a southeast Queensland City Deal.

The deal, which would see all southeast Queensland councils work more closely together on major projects in the region, would focus on transport infrastructure between council areas.

A similar arrangement was put in place in the Townsville region last year, and resulted in that city being awarded its new football stadium, as well as progressing on other major projects in the region.
