A video has emerged showing Gable Tostee reading a news article about himself.

In the footage, uploaded to SnapChat by a female friend, Mr Tostee can be seen slumped down on a couch looking at his phone.

“So, all Gable ever does is just read about himself,” a woman is heard saying.

“I’m not up myself or anything,” Mr Tostee replies, as the words “Lazy Saturday Night” appear across the top of the screen.

Mr Tostee, 30, was found not guilty over the August 8, 2014 death of New Zealand woman Warriena Wright last week after years of breathless media coverage and a sensational murder trial that hung, in the end, off Mr Tostee's habit of recording things on his phone.

In a 2300-word post published on a bodybuilding forum months after Ms Wright plunged to her death off his Gold Coast balcony, Mr Tostee lashed out at the way he was being portrayed in the media.

"A young woman had died and they needed a villain. My silence only fuelled peoples’ imagination, and the media did everything they could to exploit that, including lying and misleading," he wrote, complaining that the media's reporting of the case was "disgraceful".

"They did everything they could to establish me as an evil monster, a portrayal which could not be further from the truth," he said.
