Six saved from floods in outback Qld
AAP
Six people have been winched to safety after their car was found partially submerged in a flooded Queensland river.
The group left a hotel at Gregory near the Queensland/Northern Territory border on Sunday afternoon, bound for Mount Isa six hours away, but never arrived after taking a route that had been closed due to flooding.
An air search was launched, with a chopper pilot spotting the group 8km from where their vehicle was found abandoned in flood waters.
