Six day manhunt ends in central Qld

A prisoner on the run for six days in central Queensland has been found nearly 300km away from where he escaped.

Kevin Andrew O'Connor, 33, who was serving 11 months for drug-related offences, was reported missing from the Capricornia Correctional Centre Farm near Rockhampton on Saturday afternoon.

On Thursday he was arrested by police at Emerald, some 290km inland.

A 23-year-old woman was charged with aiding O'Connor's escape, while Queensland Corrective Services are investigating.

O'Connor was reportedly last seen playing tennis before he broke out of the low security centre.
