Second Qld man charged over shooting

A second man has been charged over a home invasion on the Gold Coast that ended with another man being shot in the stomach.
On Tuesday, Matthew Allen Popp, 24, was charged over the August 21 shooting at the Palm Avenue Hotel in Surfers Paradise and was remanded in custody until next month after the matter was mentioned in the Southport Magistrates Court.
The second man, a 26-year-old, was found in Townsville and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Thursday on charges of attempted murder and entering a dwelling with intent.
