Second alleged gang member charged

An alleged member of the Finks bikie gang has been charged over an alleged haul of dangerous drugs and weapons - the second to be arrested by police this week.

The 25-year-old Carrara man was charged after police allegedly discovered a quantity of ice, cannabis, ecstasy, and drug paraphernalia at a Labrador address and later located a shortened 22-calibre rifle and an electroshock weapon.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday.

The latest arrest comes after a senior Finks bikie gang member was charged on Thursday after police allegedly discovered drugs in a Gold Coast home.

Finding gang members in possession of dangerous drugs and weapons was a regular occurrence for police, Detective Inspector Brendan Smith from Taskforce Maxima said.

"The community expect us to target offending behaviour and accordingly, we will be unrelenting in our efforts," he said.

Police said investigations were continuing with more charges expected.
