Missing man found in Qld after three days

A man who vanished in a remote area in far north Queensland on Boxing Day has been found.

Simpson Yam, 61, went missing after setting out on foot from Oriners Station, about 130km east of Kowanyama, around 7.30pm on Monday.

Authorities sighted Mr Yam around 7.30am on Thursday morning, a day after beginning a land and air search of the area.

He appeared to be safe and well, a police spokesman said.
