Search for man missing man in north Qld

An air and land search is under way to find a bushwalker who failed to return to a camp in north Queensland.

The man, aged in his 60s, set out for a 1km walk on Monday afternoon but failed to make it back to his camp at Cape York, 100km south of Bamaga on the Telegraph Track.

Nearby campers alerted police on Tuesday morning, sparking a search of the area.
