Search resumes for missing Qld kayaker

A search has resumed for a man missing after his kayak capsized on a Queensland dam.

The 49-year-old was kayaking with a woman on Eungella Dam, to the west of Mackay, when the vessel overturned and sank on Saturday afternoon.

The woman managed to swim to safety but the man has not been seen since.

Nearby locals and campers helped Whitsundays Water Police and SES crews look for the man.

Emergency services resumed their search at first light, police said.
