Search for Qld paddle boarders called off

A search for two paddle boarders in waters north of Brisbane has been called off after one of them turned up at a police station.
The paddle boarder told police both he and his mate had safely made it to shore.
Water Police had been searching for the pair after a member of the public reported seeing them in "difficulty" in waters off Margate around 11.15am on Thursday.

It's believed they realised authorities were searching for them when they saw a helicopter hovering over the water.
Two vessels had also been out searching for the pair.
The search was called off at 1pm after one paddle boarder presented to Redcliffe Police.
