Sauna fire forces evacuation of rooms at luxury Gold Coast resort

Emergency crews were called to a luxury resort on the Gold Coast overnight after a sauna inside one of the suites caught fire.

Several rooms were evacuated at the Intercontinental at Hope Island after the blaze started.

The fire caused significant damage to several nearby rooms.

The cause is unknown.

There were no known injuries.
