Rally driver airlifted to hospital in Qld

A rally car driver aged in his 50s has been airlifted to a Brisbane hospital with suspected spinal and chest injuries.

The man crashed into a tree during a race near Jimna in the Somerset region just after midday on Saturday, CareFlight Rescue helicopter media says.

He was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a stable condition.
