Widespread rain across Queensland's interior and central coast is expected to ease on Sunday.

A low-pressure system dumped 24-hour totals of well over 100mm across large strips of central Queensland on Friday night and Saturday morning.

A woman in her 60s had to be rescued after she attempted to cross a flooded creek west of Mackay on Saturday morning but escaped injury.

The Byfield region recorded just under 200mm over 24 hours.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Dean Narramore said the rain was likely to move offshore on Sunday.

"(There will be) just general light to moderate rain areas continuing to move slightly back north into northern and central Queensland," he said.

The bureau cancelled a severe weather warning on Saturday afternoon.
