Queenslanders volunteering for Comm Games

Queenslanders make up 76 per cent of the 47,000 volunteers for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The volunteers will be stationed from Coolangatta to Cairns and range in age from nine to 91, and Commonwealth Games Corporation Chairman Peter Beattie is urging more Queenslanders to get involved.

"There are a number of other ways to be involved in the Games, with opportunities to be nominated as a baton bearer as part of the Queen's Baton Relay or by attending the Games as a spectator," Beattie said.
