It sounds too good to be true, but 9NEWS can reveal the real estate gems in the south-east for under $150,000.

Whether it's an inner city abode you're hunting for a strong investment, or the perfect place to retire - we have a bargain for you.

At Kangaroo Point, an inner-city studio for just $139,000.

Or a one bedroom apartment at Eagleby is a steal at $97,000.

And how about a comfortable unit at Labrador from $159,000?

“They rent easily. Plenty of inner-city workers, students things like that will most likely be renting the property out,” Andrew Turvey from Harcourt Solutions said.

As an investment, a Southport unit makes good sense - it rents for $260 a week and will net you $1040 dollars a month.

Even if you borrowed the full $179,000 from a bank, with an average investment rate of 4.92 percent – your principal and interest repayments would be $953 dollars a month. Making you $87 dollars profit.

Another investment, or a great downsizing option for over 50s - is Deagon Village in Brisbane's north.

Prices here for a fully self-contained unit range from $115,000 to $135,000.

“If you're looking at buying this is a really rare opportunity in Brisbane to find something like this,” Margaret Edwards from Furtado Property told 9NEWS.

Plus the units come with a courtyard and furniture.

“These prices will go up you know, there's no doubt about it,” Ms Edwards said.

Meaning it's the perfect time to snap up a bargain.
