Man shot in back in suburban Brisbane street

Police are hunting for a gunman who fired several shots at a young man on a Brisbane street early this morning.
A 22-year-old man stumbled to a home on Karloo Street in Wynnum about 2.30am with wounds to his back.
Families woke to the sound of the man screaming for help.

The street was declared a crime scene. 9News
"I thought it was probably safe just to stay inside and call the cops and they turned up pretty quickly," witness David Bateson told 9News.
The man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition and has undergone surgery.
Anyone with dashcam video is urged to contact police.
