Police no closer to solving Qld mum murder

More than a week after finding the body of Cooktown mother-of-two Donna Steele, Queensland police are no closer to solving her murder.

Investigators, who believe she knew her killer, launched a fresh appeal for information about the 42-year-old's death on Monday.

Her body was found in Isabella Creek at Leggett's Crossing on August 5, four days after she was last seen.

Forensic examinations on four places of interest, including Ms Steele's home, have now been completed and evidence is now being analysed.

Several members of the small far north Queensland community have also been interviewed, but investigators have again appealed to anyone who had contact with her in the lead-up to her death to come forward.

Ms Steele was last seen at the IGA on Helen St about 12.15pm on August 2.

CCTV captured her white Toyota Hilux ute leaving the township about 12.20pm.

Investigators are urging anyone with dashcam footage from the Cooktown area on August 2 to relinquish the vision to police.
