Queenslanders pay $95 million in mobile and seatbelt camera fines in 10 months
Queenslanders have paid a staggering $95 million in fines incurred by mobile phone and seatbelt cameras in the past 10 months, new data has revealed.
A total of 55,662 drivers were nabbed using their mobile phone while driving from January to October this year.
Another 26,366 Queenslands were caught out for not wearing a seatbelt or wearing one incorrectly, like wearing it underneath their arm.

One driver was caught with both hands off the wheel while the passenger steered the moving car.
Both offences attracted penalties of four demerit points and a fine of $1161.
There have been 245 fatalities on the state's roads this year.
