Queensland man stages naked protest outside of bank branch

A south-east Queensland man has taken on one of the big four banks with a protest in his birthday suit.

Paul Herman stood almost naked outside of a suburban ANZ branch in 30-degree heat in the latest chapter of a decades-long legal stoush with the banking giant.

Herman claims it forged his income details on a loan application and alleges that led to financial woes.

"It's really an act of desperation because the ANZ Bank are going to take my house," he said.

"They inflated my income without my knowledge."

For nearby businesses, the exposure wasn't indecent but rather a surprise.

"It shows the times, doesn't it," one resident said.

"He has a right to say what he thinks," a second person said.

"I think there's a time and place and this isn't it," a third resident said.

ANZ said a third-party umpire, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, considered Herman's claims about four of his ANZ loans were unsubstantiated. 

A fifth loan is currently being assessed. 

Herman told 9News this was not his first protest and that he staged a three-day hunger strike outside of a branch last year.
