CCTV footage shows cyclists 'dicing with death' through busy motorway tunnels
Shocking vision of Queensland cyclists flouting road rules and dicing with death in tunnels has emerged, prompting concern among authorities.
In CCTV vision, a cyclist is captured heading towards oncoming traffic before crossing over two lanes near a busy motorway tunnel.
Transurban General Manager Assets Queensland Angelo Lambrinos said the alarming behaviour was becoming more common.

"Alarmingly we have seen more cyclists in our tunnels over the last few months than the whole of 2021," he said.
On Transurban roads across the state, incidents typically happen around 23 times a year.
More than 10 were reported in the past two months.
"If you are riding your bike through a tunnel, you are dicing with death," Lambrinos said.
In the control room, the Transurban team monitors CCTV and automatic detection systems across the tunnel network 24/7.
The technology can spot a cyclist in a matter of seconds and an incident response crew can be dispatched.
Dangerous cyclists travelling through tunnels can be handed a $143 fine by police.
