Suspect arrested after man shot in abdomen near Gladstone

A man has been shot in the abdomen near Gladstone in Queensland overnight.

Police believe the man in his 30s was standing on Pike Street about 11pm when he was shot.

A 33-year-old man known to him left the scene on a motorbike and was arrested by police shortly afterwards at the intersection of Dixon and Dalrymple Drive.

Pike Street has been declared a crime scene.

The victim was taken to Gladstone Hospital with serious injuries.
