Queensland cop charged with assault

A Queensland police officer has been charged with common assault.
Police say the alleged incident occurred when the 53-year-old sergeant, from Community Contact Command, was off duty.
He is due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court, north of Brisbane, on October 31.
