The Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton will arrive in Brisbane on Christmas Eve before embarking on a round trip of Australia.

Commonwealth Games Minister Kate Jones announced on Saturday baton bearers were gearing up for the cross-country journey.

"In 100 days, on Christmas Eve, the Queen's Baton will touch down at Brisbane Airport where it will embark on a 100-day journey visiting every state and territory on its way to the opening ceremony on 4 April next year," she said.

The baton was designed and built in Brisbane and left Buckingham Palace in March.

It has since been passed via thousands of hands throughout Africa, the Caribbean, the United States and Europe.

With just 200 days left until the Gold Coast sporting extravaganza, Ms Jones announced Brisbane Airport Corporation had signed up as the newest sponsor of the Games.
