A woman and two men are all in custody after being charged with a horrific murder, with the victim put through an industrial woodchipper at a Queensland bush property.

The trio were all charged with murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice after being arrested on Tuesday.

Greg Roser, 58, Peter Koenig, 61, and Sharon Graham, 57, were all remanded in custody after making brief appearances at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Police allege the three had plotted and then executed a gruesome plot to kill butcher Bruce Saunders in November last year.

Officers were told Saunders, 54, had accidentally fallen into the chipper while clearing a friend's property in Goomboorian, near Gympie, on the night of November 12.

Shortly afterwards, however, police were informed the accident may have been foul play and by February, homicide detectives were investigating.

"We will be alleging that it wasn't an accident and that they did conspire together to commit this offence," Detective Inspector Gary Pettiford told reporters on Tuesday.

Detectives won't say if Mr Saunders was still alive when he was put into the machine.

"I can't comment on that but the injuries he sustained were horrific as you could imagine being consumed by a woodchipper," he said, adding that he would not discuss the motive for the crime.

All three have had their matters adjourned to August 3 for a committal mention.
