Qld terror accused delays bail bid

A Queensland man awaiting trial over allegations he sent funds to a terror cell in Syria has postponed a bail bid.

Former Logan Islamic bookstore owner Omar Succarieh, 32, had been due to apply for bail in the Brisbane Supreme Court on Friday, 15 months after his arrest in counter-terrorism raids.

But Succarieh's lawyer, Saul Holt QC, had the hearing postponed until next month after prosecutors found a way to let Succarieh access his case material in prison, which had been one of the main issues in his bail bid.

Succarieh is accused of sending two sums of money - one totalling $27,000 - to his brother in Syria to help the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organisation.

Federal police also allege he helped Logan resident Agim Kruezi's failed bid to join the fighting in the war-torn nation.

Succarieh's two previous bail applications were unsuccessful.

Friday's hearing was adjourned until January 21.
