Qld teenagers in court over car chase

A Queensland teenager will face court over the attempted murder of a police officer during a car chase south of Brisbane.

The 17-year-old from Logan Central is one of three youths charged over the incident, which began when two allegedly stolen vehicles were spotted being driven dangerously across Logan on Wednesday morning.

A police helicopter tracked the cars as they evaded officers, before they were separately stopped using tyre spikes.

Police allege an officer was struck by one of the vehicles when it was driven at him, causing injuries to his legs and shoulder.

The driver has been charged with attempted murder, the dangerous operation and unlawful use of a vehicle, failing to stop and unlicensed driving.

Two other males, also 17, have been similarly charged.

The trio will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The officer was taken to the Mater Hospital in a stable condition.
