Qld schoolgirl's mother breaks silence

The mother of Queensland schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer has broken her silence four months after the 12-year-old's death to plead for information about who was responsible.

The Marsden State High student was dropped off at her Logan school on October 30 last year, and six days later her body was found in the Pimpama River.

Her backpack and school uniform have never been found, and police are offering a $250,000 reward and indemnity for anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest.

Tiahleigh's mother Cindy remembers her daughter as a lovable, caring girl who had aspirations to become a dancer.

She said the hardest thing was not knowing what happened to her.

"We definitely do need answers," Ms Palmer said on Monday.

"But we don't want another family to have to go through what we're going through, so that's at the top of our list as well."

Ms Palmer appealed for anyone with information about Tiahleigh's death to contact Crime Stoppers.

"She didn't deserve what happened to her."

Police suspect Tiahleigh skipped school to meet with somebody, and believe some people they have interviewed are holding back information for fear of getting into trouble.
