Qld's top cop seeks contract extension

Queensland's top cop says he wants to stay in the job as long as possible.

Police Commissioner Ian Stewart, who took the helm in 2012, has a contract that ends in November with the option of a two-year extension.

"I've asked for an extension, but it's up for the government to determine that," he told the Nine Network.
