Qld's LNP leading Labor in new poll

The Liberal National Party would win the Queensland state election if it was held today, a new poll reveals.

A ReachTEL survey of about 3600 voters has found while Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk remains popular, the LNP is leading Labor 51 to 49 per cent on a two-party preferred basis.

However, both major parties are suffering from a dwindling primary vote, particularly in the regions where Pauline Hanson's One Nation is gaining traction.

The survey found 32.9 per cent of voters statewide would give their first preference to the LNP, only slightly more than Labor's 29.8 per cent.

One Nation is estimated to hold 15.9 per cent of the primary vote, followed by The Greens at 8.8 per cent.

The Sunday Mail reports even if the LNP won government, leader Tim Nicholls could be forced to rely on crossbench support from One Nation and other parties.

Ms Hanson's party is reported to be polling up to 20.9 per cent in some regional areas, putting it in the mix to snatch the marginal seats of Keppel on the central coast from Labor and the agricultural and mining district of Callide from the LNP.

Job creation polled as the most important issue for north Queenslanders followed by health services, which was the top concern in the state's southeast.
