Qld private schools overpaid grants: audit
AAP
Some Queensland private schools are getting bigger state grants than they are entitled to because they can't add up properly, a new report says.
The audit office found grants to private schools were overpaid by $1.5 million in 2014.
The primary reason is that private schools have been making errors on student survey forms sent to the education department.

These include simple arithmetical errors or over-counting by including non-eligible students, the report says.
The audit office said private schools need clearer guidance on keeping correct records and a better checking system.
The Queensland Audit Office report into the state government's grant program for non-state schools was released on Thursday.
