Qld premier to join Abbott in Singapore

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk will fly to Singapore with Prime Minister Tony Abbott because she doesn't want her state to lose commonwealth funding and potential foreign investment to Western Australia.

Ms Palaszczuk commended the prime minister for "setting the right tone" by inviting northern state and territory leaders on his trade mission to the southeast Asian nation this weekend.

"There is no way I'm going to let Western Australia take our share of funding. So I'll be there for two days. I'll be standing up for Queensland and I want to see jobs prosper in the north of our state," she said.
