Qld possum basher granted appeal

A north Queensland soldier jailed for bashing a possum on a concrete floor and taking photos with the injured animal will appeal his sentence.
Hayden Peter Archer, 23, was sentenced to two months jail on Monday for injuring the animal at the Townsville army barracks in April 2015.
His application was granted in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday and he was released on bail until a District Court date to be set.
