Qld police save joey from dying mother
AAP
A joey has found itself in the safe arms of the law after police officers pulled it from the pouch of its mother, which had been hit by a car near Hervey Bay.
The officers were called to a traffic jam at Maryborough in southeast Queensland, where they found a severely injured kangaroo blocking the road.
After moving the marsupial, they checked her pouch and found a joey, which they named Coconut, and handed to the RSPCA.
