A Queensland police officer has been thrown from his motorbike after being rammed by a driver he'd pulled over for speeding.

The officer was patrolling the Ipswich Motorway when he pulled over the driver of a Ford Falcon at Collingwood Park on Sunday.

As the officer pulled up behind the car, it reversed towards him forcing him to take evasive action to avoid being hit.

The officer swerved ahead of the Falcon but the driver planted his foot on the accelerator and rammed the police bike, sending the officer flying.

He suffered minor hand and leg injuries.

The driver remains on the run and police want to hear from anyone who has spotted a dark green older model Ford Falcon sedan.
