Third person charged over Qld shooting

A third person has been charged with attempted murder after a man was shot in the stomach and leg in the Queensland city of Toowoomba.

Police on Friday charged a 25-year-old man over the incident, which occurred in the early hours of July 19 outside a property on Curzon St in Rangeville.

Investigators believe the 20-year-old victim was speaking to two men outside his home when he was shot.

They allegedly fled in a car, while the man was taken to hospital for surgery.

Detective Inspector Dave Isherwood said last month it was believed a small-calibre gun was used to shoot the man in the stomach, while a high-powered weapon was used to shoot him in the knee.

Insp. Isherwood said the group of people were all known to each other.

"I just want to reassure everyone this is obviously not a random shooting so we haven't got lunatics running around Toowoomba shooting indiscriminately at people," he said at the time.

Police charged a 26-year-old woman with attempted murder earlier this week.

A 23-year-old man fronted court the day after the shooting.

The 25-year-old charged on Friday is due to appear in court on August 14.
