Queensland police officer 'kneed in groin' during arrest

A police officer has allegedly been kneed in the groin and spat on while responding to an incident in Queensland's southeast.
Police say the officer was trying to detain a man at a home in the Ipswich suburb of Camira on Sunday evening when the assault occurred.
The male officer suffered non life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to St Andrews Hospital.

A 25-year-old Camira man was charged with serious assault police and is due to appear at the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.
