Qld officer bitten, punched in attack

A police officer was allegedly punched in the head several times and bitten on the arm while trying to detain a man at a home in Queensland's west.

The constable was treated in hospital after the incident at Kaimkillenbun, near Dalby, on Friday night, which began as a callout to a disturbance.

A 33-year-old man is facing a string of charges, including three counts of serious assault, and will appear in Dalby Magistrates Court on September 28.

Another man, aged 38, has been charged with one count of obstructing police and will face the same court on October 20.
